AC Milan and Inter will open negotiations with the city over the purchase of the San Siro and surrounding areas.

Per Corriere della Sera via FCInterNews, talks are about to get underway amid the Sì Meazza Committee’s attempt to hijack the agreement.

The Committee argues that the stadium has already turned 70 years old. They aim to obstruct the clubs’ plans to build a new venue.

As a result, they’ve already appealed to the administrative court, which could complicate matters significantly.

Indeed, in that case, a heritage restriction would come into effect.

AC Milan & Inter Set to Open Talks for San Siro Purchase

Undeterred by the Committee’s appeal, AC Milan and Inter remain confident of purchasing the San Siro and surrounding areas.

However, a planned hotel near the stadium is among the Superintendency’s conditions.

Both clubs must accept the request to relocate it away from the recently restored De Montel stables, rather than building it directly in front.

Furthermore, Milan and Inter wish to demolish all four spiral towers.

On the other hand, the Superintendency opposes this idea.

Therefore, negotiations could prove long and tiresome.
