Next week is set to be make-or-break for Inter Milan in their pursuit of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan have made Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman their priority target.
The Nerazzurri made an offer of €40 million for the Nigerian earlier this month. However, Atalanta rejected this initial bid – giving Inter a counteroffer of €50 million.
However, that has not deterred Inter. Far from it – they are aiming to return with another offer very soon.
The Corriere dello Sport confirm that Inter’s plan is to increase their bid for Lookman early next week.
The Nerazzurri will put an offer of €45 million on the table. Therefore, splitting the difference between their first offer and Atalanta’s counteroffer.
For now, Lookman himself has made it clear that he wants to join Inter.
The Nigerian international will push for the transfer to the Nerazzurri.
However, Inter are not going to wait around forever. If Atalanta insist on stalling in negotiations, then after this week they could decide to move on from their pursuit of Lookman.
