Inter Milan and RB Leipzig have not opened talks over Xavi Simons despite the Italian club’s alleged interest in the Dutchman.

According to L’Interista via TMW, there’s been no contact between the two clubs over the 22-year-old’s transfer.

Xavi Simons yesterday emerged as a potential target for Inter.

However, Atalanta star Ademola Lookman remains the top priority for Beppe Marotta and his associates.

Therefore, the Dutch forward is only a backup option.

Inter Milan & RB Leipzig Are Not in Contact over Xavi Simons

With only two years left to run on his contract at the Red Bull Arena, Simons could be available on favorable terms.

Though signing a player of his quality in a cut-price deal looks tempting, Inter have other priorities.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri will focus completely on signing Lookman.

After sorting out Hakan Calhanoglu’s future, Marotta can return to work on the Nigerian’s arrival.

Despite agreeing on personal terms with the 27-year-old, Inter must still find an agreement with Atalanta.

La Dea have slapped a €50 million price tag on Lookman, while Inter won’t offer more than €40m.
