Report – No Inter Milan For Bayer Leverkusen Star: Agrees Terms With Sunderland

Bayer Leverkusen star Granit Xhaka has reportedly struck a verbal agreement with Sunderland amid interest from Inter Milan.

According to Sky Sport DE via FCInterNews, the Swiss midfielder has accepted Sunderland’s terms.

Xhaka has emerged as one of the leading candidates to replace Hakan Calhanoglu at San Siro.

Indeed, Atalanta’s asking price for Ederson has deterred Inter from making a move.

Then, the Italians are not overly excited about signing Bayern Munich misfit Joao Palhinha.

Therefore, they’ve earmarked Xhaka as a fitting profile.

Granit Xhaka is reportedly keen to return to the Premier League, two years after leaving Arsenal.

The 32-year-old spent seven years at the Emirates Stadium before joining Leverkusen in 2023.

However, after helping the club win the first Bundesliga title in his first season, Xhaka is ready to pack his bags.

Despite drawing inquiries from Inter, the experienced midfielder wants to link up with Sunderland.

Indeed, the Black Cats are seeking reinforcements after returning to the Premier League after nearly a decade.
