Sky Sport Italia reports Raffaele Palladino resigned as Fiorentina coach this morning, but the club is trying to convince him to stay.
Fiorentina coach Palladino handed in his resignation this morning, but the club is reportedly trying to persuade him to change his mind, according to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio.
Fiorentina activated a clause to extend Palladino’s contract to 2027 only a few weeks ago, before the second leg of the Conference League semi finals against Real Betis.
Fiorentina have not yet released a statement about Palladino as talks between the coach and the club directors are still ongoing.
Palladino and sporting director Daniele Pradé faced strong criticism during Fiorentina’s last home game this month as angry ultras urged both to leave the Stadio Franchi.
Fiorentina had been in the race for a top-four finish for several months in the 2024-25 campaign, but inconsistent results in the final weeks saw the team finish 6th with 65 points, enough to qualify for the Conference League.
The Tuscans had reached the Conference League Final in the last two years under Vincenzo Italiano, but were eliminated in the semis this season.
