Roma are ready to rival Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid for the signature of Bologna defender Jhon Lucumi.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report, however, that it would be difficult for the Giallorossi to afford the Colombian’s €28 million release clause.

Bologna defender Jhon Lucumi has come to the end of an outstanding third season in Emilia-Romagna.

Lucumi joined the Rossoblu from Genk in the summer of 2022. And he has established himself as a key player, particularly under Vincenzo Italiano.

Roma Rival Inter & Atletico Madrid For Jhon Lucumi

There has been a fair bit of transfer interest to emerge in Lucumi off the back of last season.

Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid have reportedly eyed the 26-year-old up. Both are looking to bolster in defense this summer.

However, reports Sky Sport Italia, a new suitor for Lucumi has emerged. Roma are also keen on signing the Colombian international.

Lucumi has a release clause in his contract with Bologna. This would be worth €28 million, and can be triggered before July 15th.

However, Sky Sport Italia report, Roma would need for this to be lower in order to sign Lucumi.
