Negotiations between Atalanta and Inter Milan for Ademola Lookman have stalled, putting the deal on hold for the time being.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, Inter’s opening bid for the Nigerian forward came a cropper.

Despite agreeing personal terms with Ademola Lookman, the Nerazzurri cannot come to terms with La Dea.

Indeed, they offered €40 million for the 27-year-old.

However, Atalanta are reluctant to budge on their €50m asking price, throwing the deal into doubt.

Talks Between Inter Milan & Atalanta for Ademola Lookman Reach Impasse

Lookman has already accepted Inter’s proposal and wants to join forces with Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

Furthermore, the ex-RB Leipzig forward was close to leaving Bergamo last summer.

However, his late transfer to Paris Saint-Germain fell through, forcing him to stay in Bergamo for another year.

Meanwhile, Atalanta reportedly promised to let him go last summer, but only under their conditions.

Now, Lookman wants to hold the Gewiss Stadium outfit to their word.

Elsewhere, La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are keeping close tabs on the situation.
