Report: Tottenham eyeing 21-year-old Spaniard who could be an upgrade on key star

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on the Porto striker Samu Aghehowa.

The 21-year-old has been outstanding since moving to the Portuguese club, and he scored 27 goals in all competitions last season. He has been quite impressive this season as well, scoring seven goals in 10 matches across all competitions.

They were linked with Aghehowa last season as well.

Tottenham keen on Samu Aghehowa

According to a report from TEAMtalk, they are keeping tabs on the talented young attacker, and they could look to make a move for him in future. There has been talk of fresh investment in the club, and Tottenham could be more ambitious in the transfer market in future.

Tottenham could certainly use another quality striker and could be a solid acquisition for them. He could prove to be an upgrade on Dominic Solanke, who has failed to make his mark since the big-money move to Tottenham. He has not been able to score goals consistently.

On the other hand, the 21-year-old has gone from strength to strength since joining the Portuguese club. He has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League, and he could share the goal-scoring burden with the Tottenham striker. He could even prove to be an upgrade on the English attacker in future.

Aghehowa could fancy a move

The opportunity to move to the Premier League could be exciting for him. It would be a step up in his career, and he would get to test himself alongside top-class players. Regular football in England could accelerate his development as well and help him fulfil his potential.

Meanwhile, the striker has a contract with Porto until 2029, and they are under no pressure to sell him anytime soon. It would take a huge amount of money in order to convince the Portuguese side to sell the player.
