This past summer, Tottenham Hotspur revamped their defense following the departures of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld. Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici began a new cycle as one of their marquee signings was Cristian Romero from Atalanta BC.

Romero is now the anchor of the Spurs backline; nonetheless, the fixing of the central defenders isn’t stopping there. Tottenham will look to find another player that can play alongside the Argentine defender and be the pillar of the defense for seasons to come.

According to Calciomercato, the north London-based plans to pursue AS Monaco center-back Benoît Badiashile. The 20-year-old already has 101 appearances with the French side, so he already has a lot of experience playing for a significant club in France despite his young age.

Badiashile is under contract with Monaco until 2024, so they wouldn’t be in a rush to sell the young defender. When it comes to the potential cost, Transfermarkt puts the France international’s transfer value at €28-million.
