Tottenham Hotspur wants to resume revamping its backline when the transfer window opens up in June. Last summer, the north London club added Cristian Romero, but they want to continue the central defender role.

According to Milanese publication InterLive, Stefan de Vrij could be on his way out of the Serie A club with only one year left on his contract past this season. The Italian media outlet adds that Tottenham could reunite the 30-year-old with his former manager Antonio Conte.

When it comes to the asking price, Inter Milan reportedly wants between €25-million and €30 million, so they could therefore close the deal, then invest the sum collected for Gleison Bremer.

Furthermore, Tottenham wants to put forth a four-year contract with a salary of €6.5 million net. The possible addition of de Vrij would bring a veteran presence to the Spurs defense.

They’ll also get a player who has played for Conte, knows what the Italian tactician wants from his center-backs, and takes some of the responsibility off Romero’s shoulders.
