Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign Rodrygo Goes from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old has been linked with the move away from La Liga, and the North London outfit are hoping to secure his signature. According to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham have submitted €100 million offer for the Brazilian. They have requested permission from Real Madrid to negotiate with the player now.

Can Spurs convince Rodrygo Goes?

However, the Brazilian International is not convinced about a move to Tottenham. He feels that it could be a step down for him. He has been fighting for major trophies consistently with Real Madrid, and he has won multiple league titles and Champions League trophies. He will want to join a club where he will be able to fight for those trophies consistently. Tottenham are going through a period of rebuilding, and there are no guarantees that they will be able to compete at the highest level next season.

It will be interesting to see how they convince the player to join the club. There is no doubt that he would be an excellent addition in the long term. He is capable of slotting into multiple attacking roles, and he could add a new dimension to the Tottenham attack.

Rodrygo is an elite talent

Former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has previously labelled him as a special footballer, who is a very complete player.

He said: “Both Valverde and Rodrygo are special players. And that’s what modern-day footballers have to be. They can play in different positions, and they possess both technical and physical attributes.

“The modern-day footballer is complete, has energy and quality.”

There is no doubt that the Brazilian has the qualities to thrive in the Premier League, and Tottenham would do well to secure his signature. They need to convince the player of their ambitions.

They managed to win the UEFA Europa League last season, but attacking a player like Rodrygo can be complicated. It remains to be seen how the situation develops. If they can sign him for €100 million, it would be a club record transfer for them.
