ESPN's James Olley is reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of signing former England international Joe Hart.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper is exiting Burnley after the expiration of his contract and is set to join Tottenham on a free transfer to replace Michel Vorm as a backup to first-choice shot-stopper Hugo Lloris.
Hart made only three appearances for the Clarets during the 2019-20 campaign and has hit multiple career roadblocks since his best days with Manchester City and the England National Team. As noted by ESPN, Tottenham will improve the club's homegrown quota by signing the Shrewsbury product.
ESPN also reported that Tottenham wish to extend Lloris' contract. The World Cup winner who turns 34 years old in December is currently signed through the 2021-22 season.
Hart twice won the Premier League with City, and he twice hoisted the League Cup and won one FA Cup with the club.
