Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Brentford striker Yoane Wissa at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old is having an exceptional season with Brentford, and he has 19 goals and four assists to his name. According to Sky Sports, Tottenham are keeping tabs on him, and they could look to make a move for him in the summer.
Tottenham tried to sign the player back in January as well.
They are keen on his Brentford teammate Bryan Mbeumo as well. Both players have been exceptional, and it will be interesting to see who they end up with. Spurs need to add more quality and depth to the attacking unit. They need a dynamic attacker who is capable of slotting anywhere across the front three.
Wissa is at the peak of his powers, and he will look to hit the ground running at Tottenham if the move goes through. It would be an exceptional opportunity for him at this stage of his career. Even though Tottenham have struggled this season, they are one of the traditional big clubs in the Premier League, and they have an ambitious project. They have talented players at their disposal as well, and they could bounce back strongly next year and fight for trophies.
Timo Werner will leave the club when his loan deal expires, and Richarlison could be on his way out of the club as well. Spurs need a quality attacker, and the 28-year-old Brentford star certainly fits the profile. He is capable of operating as a centre forward as well as a wide player. He could share the goalscoring burden with Dominic Solanke next season.
The report from Sky Sports claims that Wissa could be available for a more reasonable price compared to Mbeumo. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.
