Genoa defender Alessandro Vogliacco is reportedly ready to fly out for a medical with PAOK, even after interest from Pisa and Cagliari.

According to Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, the player had been reticent to accept the move abroad to Greece, but now seems open to accepting the transfer.

It is set to be a loan with option to buy at the end of the season.

Vogliacco open to PAOK experience

The centre-back turns 27 next month and spent time in the youth academies of Bari and Juventus, before moving on to Pordenone, Benevento, and Genoa.

There were reports of interest from Pisa and Cagliari this summer, but the Serie A sides never went in for the deal, while Palermo in Serie B were also mentioned as potential destinations.

Genoa paid €2m to purchase Vogliacco from Pordenone in August 2021, then he spent the last six months of the most recent term on loan at Parma.

He is married to Sinisa Mihajlovic’s daughter and they named their son after the much-missed former Bologna coach.
