Reports: Sadio Mane eyeing Liverpool departure, could sign with Bayern Munich

After six seasons with Liverpool, Sadio Mané may be planning to play elsewhere soon.

According to multiple reports, Mané is set to inform Liverpool he intends to leave the club and Bayern Munich of Germany's Bundesliga is already jumping at the opportunity to acquire the star striker. While Dominic King of the Daily Mail said Mané hasn't yet informed Liverpool of his plans, he reportedly told his teammates Saturday after a 1-0 loss in the Champions League final.

Mané, 30, scored 16 goals for Liverpool in the Premier League this season, five in the Champions League, and two in the FA Cup.

In international play, Mané helped lead Senegal to a spot in the 2022 World Cup and led the team to a win in the African Cup of Nations.

Liverpool finished second in the Premier League and lost the Champions League final, bringing a stellar 2021-22 season to a disappointing end after previously winning the FA Cup and EFL Cup. Mohamed Salah led the team in goals in Premier League play with 23 and Diogo Jota added another 15 goals. No other player on the team scored more than five.

Bayern Munich has won the Bundesliga for 10 straight seasons. Polish striker Robert Lewandowski led the team in scoring for a fifth straight year.
