Simone Inzaghi is planning to rest plenty of key players and manage fitness ahead of the Champions League final between PSG and Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan are set to face Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the Champions League at the end of the month.

In the meantime, however, the Nerazzurri have three more matches to go in Serie A.

Inter take on Torino, Lazio, and Como before they wrap up their league season. They will naturally aim to win the lot in the hope that Napoli slip up and give them a route back to the title.

However, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will certainly make arriving at the Champions League final with a physically fresh squad a major priority.

Inzaghi Planning To Rest Key Players Ahead Of PSG Vs Inter Milan UCL Final

According to the Gazzetta, starting with this weekend’s showdown with Torino, Inzaghi will rest several key players.

Firstly, Lautaro Martinez and Benjamin Pavard will play no part in Sunday’s match.

Inter captain Martinez managed to grit his teeth and start against Barcelona on Tuesday in the semifinal second leg. However, he was not able to go the distance due to fitness issues.

Meanwhile, Pavard missed Tuesday’s match.

And Inzaghi certainly will not be rushing either Martinez or Pavard back to the pitch.

Then, there are players like Marcus Thuram, Alessandro Bastoni, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

These players are not dealing with injuries. However, the long season has taken its toll physically, as they are suffering from some fatigue.

Therefore, Inzaghi will very much manage these players’ minutes.

The Inter coach does not want to take any risks ahead of the Champions League final. Therefore, he will base all his selection decisions for the upcoming Serie A matches on this.
