Cristian Chivu will earn €2.5 million net per season on his two-year contract as coach of Inter Milan.
This according to Italian outlet Gazzetta.it.
Inter Milan have decided upon Cristian Chivu to be their new coach. The 44-year-old will replace Simone Inzaghi, who has left to join Al-Hilal.
Inter had been working on snapping up Cesc Fabregas to become Inzaghi’s successor.
However, Como President Mirwan Suwarson strongly rebuffed the Nerazzurri’s interest, and stated that the Lariani would refuse to release the Spaniard.
Meanwhile, Genoa coach Patrick Vieira was another name reportedly on Inter’s shortlist.
The Gazzetta report that Chivu has already agreed personal terms to become Inter coach.
The Romanian held a decisive round of talks with the Nerazzurri today.
The Gazzetta anticipate that Inter will hand Chivu a two-year contract, running until the end of June 2027.
And the wages for the 44-year-old will be €2.5 million net per season.
This is significantly less than Simone Inzaghi had earned at Inter. And in particularly, it is a big drop from what Inter would have been ready to offer the now-departed coach to extend his deal.
