Inter Milan have sold Canadian wingback Tajon Buchanan to Villarreal for a reported fee of €9 million.
According to Calcio e Finanza via FCInterNews, Buchanan’s sale generated a €4.1 million capital gain for the club.
Tajon Buchanan joined Inter Milan from Club Brugge in January 2024 for around €7 million.
However, his career at San Siro never took off.
As such, Inter sent him out on a short-term loan to Villarreal in the second half of last season.
Although Villarreal refused to trigger a buyout option in Buchanan’s loan agreement, they eventually signed the 26-year-old.
In addition to paying Inter around €9 million, they have agreed to give the Nerazzurri 20% of any future transfer fee.
That’s more than a good deal for the Serie A giants.
Indeed, Buchanan’s market value plummeted to just over €6.5 million as of June 30, 2024.
After just one season, it decreased to a mere €4.9 million, meaning Inter’s capital gain on the 2025/26 accounts will amount to €4.1 million.
