Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan suffered a thigh injury during Saturday’s away Serie A defeat to Napoli.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 36-year-old is facing a month-long spell on the sidelines.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan gave away a penalty in Inter’s 3-1 loss at the Maradona Stadium.
Furthermore, the former Roma star hurt himself in the process, forcing Cristian Chivu to take him off immediately.
Needless to say, the veteran midfielder will not be at Chivu’s disposal for tomorrow night’s match against Fiorentina.
However, Mkhitaryan should be back in action in about a month, with Chivu expecting to have him back at the start of December.
Therefore, he will most likely miss Inter’s next five games in Serie A, including the highly anticipated Milan derby.
Moreover, Chivu won’t be able to call upon the Nerazzurri stalwart for the upcoming Champions League clashes against Kairat Almaty and Atletico Madrid.
With Mkhitaryan on the sidelines, this could be an ideal opportunity for Petar Sucic to re-establish himself as a starter.
