Richarlison is set to leave Tottenham and make an emotional return to Everton.

Richarlison is set for a dramatic return to Everton, bringing an end to a difficult chapter at Tottenham Hotspur.

Everton have a deal reportedly agreed in principle to sign Richarlison. Iliman Ndiaye is set to go the other way in a separate deal. Spurs have moved quickly to sign Iliman Ndiaye after missing out on Liverpool star Cody Gakpo, who has decided to join Manchester City. Both Richarlison and Ndiaye are set to undergo medicals and agree on personal terms before completing their respective moves.

Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi has been clear that he only wants players who are fully committed to the project, and it is clear that Richarlison has not expressed such a commitment. The 47-year-old revealed after Tottenham’s defeat to Newcastle United that the Brazilian international is one of three players to have asked to leave the club before the transfer deadline day.

It looks like Richarlison is set to make a return to Everton after four years. However, the 29-year-old has now taken to social media to post a cryptic message, where he seems to suggest De Zerbi misrepresented his stance.

The forward posted a picture of himself from a match last season accompanied by a thinking emoji on Instagram. However, it was the following slide that truly caught the eye. Richarlison shared a message that read: “I am the villain of many poorly told stories.”

The Brazilian’s latest post on his social media handle has left supporters and pundits alike scratching their heads. It is a pointed message, perhaps, to the Spurs boss amid speculation that he is set to end his stay at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement in principle to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, with Richarlison heading back to the Merseyside club.

Richarlison arrived at Tottenham from Everton in 2022 amid a lot of fanfare; however, persistent injury problems and chronic inconsistency have seen him fail to live up to the expectations of the fans and the club officials. He has netted 32 goals in 134 appearances for the Lilywhites, including 12 strikes in all competitions last season. The South American star has entered the final year of his contract, and while the club has an option to extend it by a year, the player’s desire to leave N17 has seemingly been accepted by our officials.

The versatile forward has scored some memorable goals for Tottenham, which will forever be cherished by our loyal supporters. Hopefully, a move back to Everton helps Richarlison regain his mojo.
