Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe is still slated to become a free agent at the end of the season. For now, former Brazilian international Rivaldo wants the forward to simply focus on the ongoing campaign with the Ligue 1 side.

Rivaldo recently spoke to Betfair, where he advised Mbappe that even as he now has the ability to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with any club for a possible free transfer move later in the year, the French forward should not go on to do just that.

“With just six months of his contract with PSG remaining, French star Kylian Mbappe is now free to negotiate with other clubs ahead of next season, but I think he should avoid making decisions now and prefer to focus in helping his club achieve Champions League success,” Rivaldo said.

“If he manage to win CL, even leaving the club at the end of season, he would always be recognized for his efforts by the fans for winning a very important title for them, and only after that should he announce his new club that seems to be Real Madrid.”

Mbappe has been heavily linked with Real Madrid since last year’s summer transfer window. In the end, Mbappe stayed put with PSG, as he is now aiming to help the side not only claim a domestic double but also a UEFA Champions League trophy win.

For now, a home Ligue 1 fixture against Brest awaits Mbappe and PSG.
