Monday’s reports claim that Roma and Bologna are both keen on the idea of signing England U21 star Jonathan Rowe from Olympique de Marseille.
Roma are looking at the possibility of making multiple attacking additions before the close of the summer transfer window.
The Giallorossi are also in negotiations over a deal for Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey, but are unlikely to land a deal for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho, which leaves them looking at alternative options: Among them is Rowe from Marseille.
Reports from Gianluca Di Marzio confirm that Bologna have also been attempting to seal a deal with Marseille for the former Norwich City winger.
Monday’s update adds that Bologna have not yet received approval from Rowe himself.
Rowe, who scored the winning goal against Germany in the U21 European Championships this summer, spent the 2024-25 season on loan in Ligue 1 with Marseille, scoring three goals from 28 league appearances, and had his move made permanent at a cost of €15m including bonuses earlier this summer.
Recent reports claim that it would take an offer in the region of €20m to convince Roberto De Zerbi’s side into selling.
