Negotiations between Roma and Olympique Marseille for a straight swap between Evan N’Dicka and Ismael Koné have reportedly ground to a halt.

The idea only really emerged late last night, but it seems to be heading no further after today.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, the two clubs have very different valuations of the players.

This would make a clear exchange practically impossible, so the entire idea could be rapidly abandoned.

Roma in a rush to get deals done

Roma have a serious timing issue, because they must make sales before the June 30 deadline to avoid stumbling into Financial Fair Play penalties.

With that in mind, they cannot waste time on negotiations that are so far away from finding common ground.

Defender N’Dicka would’ve been a good candidate to get off their books because he arrived as a free agent only two years ago, so represents pure profit.

As for Koné, he is returning to Olympique Marseille after a six-month loan with Stade Rennes.
