Roma will still be without summer signing Leon Bailey for Sunday’s clash with Fiorentina but there is optimism amongst the Giallorossi camp that Paulo Dybala could recover in time to be included in the squad.
According to what has been reported by Sky Sport in Italy, Bailey is Roma’s only guaranteed absence. The Jamaican winger was injured in his first training session with the club and is not expected back until after the October international break.
Dybala, meanwhile, has been training separately from the rest of the squad as he seeks to recover fully from a hamstring injury.
Whilst Dybala may be included in the squad in some capacity for the trip to Florence on Sunday, it is unlikely he will start.
If the Argentine has made enough progress to be available for head coach Gian Piero Gasperini, the experienced tactician will likely start him from the bench.
Getting their star forward minutes whilst not running the risk of aggravating the injury again is a delicate balance but Gasperini has the squad depth to be able to manage his situation carefully.
