While Andrea Belotti is in talks with Fiorentina, Roma defender Marash Kumbulla is now close to Sassuolo rather than Udinese or Verona.

The Giallorossi are working hard to whittle down the squad in the final hours of the transfer window, which comes to a close on Thursday evening.

Multiple reports state that Belotti’s agent met with Fiorentina directors today to discuss the details of a loan move, and the final decision should be made tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, defender Kumbulla has finally recovered from anterior cruciate ligament surgery and is seeking a loan to get more playing time.

He has not played since April 2023, when sustaining the serious knee injury.

Several different clubs showed interest, including Udinese, Cagliari, Torino, Genoa and Verona.

However, Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia both now claim that Sassuolo are the favourites for the Albania international.

This is also because Sassuolo received an offer from Cremonese to purchase Gian Marco Ferrari, so Kumbulla would be the replacement for the rest of the season.
