Roma make offer to sign Alejandro Garnacho

Alejandro Garnacho has been locked in a winding and long transfer saga so far this summer as several clubs attempt to pursue the former Manchester United man.

The 22-year-old, who recently unveiled his new haircut which caught the attention of many Chelsea and Manchester United fans, made 24 appearances in the Premier League last season, scoring one goal and providing four assists.

Even with these efforts, though, he has faced much criticism with Nicky Butt calling him a “disgrace” whilst he was booed in matches against Manchester City and United.

One year into his seven-year deal with the club, a departure in this summer’s transfer window for Garnacho is beginning to feel more likely.

Chelsea are set to offer the left-winger to a number of clubs this summer whilst the Premier League club remain open to a sale if a club comes forward.

Roma have now raised their interest with Italian outlet Gianlucadi Marzio reporting that the club have made an offer to sign the 22-year-old.

The publication have also stated that, whilst the Italian club are wanting to pursue a loan deal with the obligation to buy, Chelsea are wanting €40m.

That gap could pose serious problems in initial negotiations but will be something that both parties look to work through as talks over a potential deal take place.

Roma have strengthened their winger situation with Paulo Dybala looking likely to extend his contract at the club, providing a major boost ahead of the start of next season.

The addition of Alejandro Garnacho to the squad could provide a further boost to the side ahead of the season, improving both quality and depth.

It would also give an opportunity to the Chelsea left-winger to revive his career, a move that may be necessary to ensure success.

Attention will now switch towards negotiations between the respective parties. If a deal can be reached, Alejandro Garnacho may, quite possibly, be a Roma player for next season.
