Rui Patricio is off to a slow start, and Roma could try to bring in another goalkeeper to challenge him. His young backup, Mile Svilar, isn’t considered ready to do that yet. The Giallorossi are mulling some veterans, Calciomercato informs.

They were offered Hugo Lloris, whom Tottenham would release if he found another side. He was on the verge of joining Lazio last week. The deal didn’t come together after some back and forth about his future role. The capital side could also consider Davide de Gea. He’s out of contract as Manchester United signed André Onana, but his wage requests are lofty.

According to the outlet, Roma made an attempt for Wladimiro Falcone during his brief return at Sampdoria before Lecce brought back the goalkeeper on a permanent deal. Even if the Salentini acquired him for relatively cheap, it’d take a decent offer to lure him.

The Giallorossi have given up four goals in the first two matches against Salernitana and Verona. Patricio was particularly underwhelming in the second one. According to Tuttomercatoweb, while José Mourinho would gladly onboard Lloris, the ownership said no to the proposition.

Our Take on Roma Searching For a New Goalkeeper

Patricio is aggressively average even on his day, but he’s trusted by José Mourinho. Other priorities are higher on their agenda, so an addition between the sticks is unlikely.
