Roma have scheduled a meeting with Atalanta to finalize the Duvan Zapata deal. The operation slowed down because of the opening round. La Dea just lost El Bilal Touré for months to a major thigh injury, but they could still part ways with their stalwart if their demands were fulfilled, Corriere dello Sport informs.

The two sides will convene Monday to try to reach an agreement. The Colombian started and played a half versus Sassuolo. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini hinted at his departure afterward.

“If he’s fit, I field him. However, I’d never stand in the way of his decision. I owe him and Luis Muriel a lot. They’ll choose what to do along with the management. I’d be happy to keep coaching them, but the sentiment wouldn’t change if they left.”

After some back and forth, Roma and Atalanta are in advanced talks for a permanent transfer for a €6M fee plus add-ons for Zapata. The marksman would ink a three-year contract and earn €3M annually, bonuses included.

The Giallorossi have decided to comply with Santos’ request to sign Marco Leonardo only in January. However, if they offloaded Ola Solbakken, they might bring in another striker provided they find one for cheap.

Our Take on Roma and Zapata
