Romano tell Manchester United fans to have patience amid £62.5m negotiation

The Red Devils are facing financial restrictions in the transfer market after frivolously spending money in the past transfer windows. United have to sell players before they can buy new ones, as many positions need recruitment during the summer window.

However, United cannot wait to strengthen the forward position, which is the most vulnerable part of their team right now. Both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to establish themselves as the first-choice number nine, struggling persistently with consistency.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano told United fans to keep their patience as negotiations to sign Wolves star Cunha during the summer transfer window continue. The Brazil international would cost £62.5m to United, however, he has the Premier League experience to make an instant impact. He said:

“Ruben Amorim appreciates Cunha, and the player knows this very well. I want to say to Man United fans…relax a bit on this one. Yes, there was a feeling two or three weeks ago that this deal could happen in a few days, but it always takes time to prepare a contract, to agree on the salary, to speak to the agent, and then to agree with Wolves on the payment terms. We expect Man United to advance on this one in the coming days. Cunha is keen on the move, and it’s just about completing the contract agreement.”

Cunha fits the profile that Amorim desires in his attacker, and could improve his contribution level alongside better attacking teammates. The 25-year-old has made 34 appearances for Wolves in all competitions this season, scoring 17 goals and providing six assists.

Cunha has just entered the prime of his footballing career and also possesses the versatility to play in several different attacking positions. Amorim enjoyed great success at Sporting CP with prolific forward Viktor Gyokeres leading the frontline consistently under him. Cunha has all the capabilities to do the same thing for Amorim at United, driving the club back to the top side of the Premier League.
