Gotham FC extended its unbeaten run to a club-record nine matches with Sunday’s 0-0 draw against Angel City FC, but the result was overshadowed by concern for midfielder Rose Lavelle.
Lavelle went down following a collision with an Angel City defender and remained on the field while Gotham’s medical staff assessed her. After several minutes, she left the field and went directly to the locker room. Mandy Freeman entered in her place in the 37th minute as a concussion substitute.
A Gotham spokesperson said Lavelle was being evaluated for a head injury. Acting head coach Shaun Harris did not have an update on the midfielder’s condition after the match.
