Since being hired as Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim has hard his fair share of doubters.
Whether it was the league form that saw United finish last season in 15th, or the UEFA Europa League Final defeat to Tottenham, is has been an eventful first 13 months in the role for Amorim.
Form has turned around this season, with only one defeat since September 27th,
This run includes a 2-1 away win to Liverpool.
United face West Ham United tomorrow evening as they hope to make it back-to-back wins following that 2-1 win against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
With as many as eight players potentially out for United on Thursday, the chances of a victory against the Hammers is at risk.
Against a team such as West Ham, who have struggled this season, a loss would cause a lot of unrest from the United fanbase.
Amorim has spoken on social media abuse. He said: “I don’t read it, I protect myself. I don’t watch TV when they are talking about [Manchester] United.
“Not because I don’t agree, a lot of time I do, but it’s a way of me being healthy. My feeling as a coach is enough. Of course I lose money from sponsors on Instagram.”
Should United win on Thursday, they have the chance to gather some momentum in December.
Following the West Ham game and during the next 30 days, United face bottom side Wolverhampton Wanderers twice, AFC Bournemouth and Newcastle United at home, as well as an away test against Aston Villa.
This is a great opportunity to put themselves high in the table when the 2026 calendar year begins.
