The fifth round draw for the FA Cup took place on Monday and the next matchups for the oldest tournament in soccer are now known. Among the notable ties is Wrexham vs. Chelsea.
The team co-owned by Ryan Reynolds advanced to the fifth round after eliminating Ipswich Town with a 1-0 victory on Feb. 13. Before that, they had surprisingly beaten Nottingham Forest 4-3 on penalties after a 3-3 draw in regulation time on Jan. 9.
The Blues, meanwhile, defeated Championship side Hull City convincingly 4-0 on Feb. 13. Before that, they routed Charlton 5-1 in the third round on Jan. 10.
In a video shared on social media, Reynolds' reaction can be seen after being drawn against Chelsea for the next round of the Cup.
Apparently, Reynolds wanted Wrexham to get Chelsea, as Hugh Jackman, who appears with him in the video, says, "that's what you wanted."
"Ho! Chelsea," Jackman said when the draw result was announced. "Wait, we're home for Chelsea," Reynolds said, to which Jackman responded, "That's what you wanted."
"Yes! Oh, f---. What the f---?" the Wrexham co-owner concluded, visibly excited.
Therefore, Wrexham will host Chelsea at the Racecourse Ground on March 7 in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
On that same date, there are other notable matchups, such as Newcastle vs. Manchester City, Mansfield Town vs. Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Liverpool.
