The UEFA Champions League is among the most prestigious soccer competitions for players and teams. This is known and ahead of the second leg between PSG and Arsenal, a star player who showed admiration towards the French champions is Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

Salah described his thoughts about the PSG matchup and mentioned that he was very impressed with the French team. In an interview with L'Équipe, Salah described PSG as the 'best team in Europe'.

PSG finished 15th in the new format Champions League, which led them to play in the playoffs. Their record after eight games included four wins, one draw, and three losses. In the playoff round to qualify for the Round of 16, PSG defeated Brest 10-0 on aggregate.
After a disappointing start to their Champions League campaign this season, the French side turned things around under Luis Enrique. The winter signing of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia also boosted their attack.
PSG were drawn with Liverpool, and many called it a 'harsh draw' for the Reds since the team finished first and yet got a tough team in PSG, who became arguably one of the best teams in Europe since the start of 2025.
Liverpool defeated PSG 1-0 in the first leg in Paris after the French champions were impressive with many chances. Alisson Becker made a total of nine saves in the match. In the second leg, PSG defeated Liverpool 1-0 in a closer game. The match went to penalties, and PSG advanced.
After eliminating Liverpool from the Champions League, PSG became one of the favorites to win the Champions League this season. Liverpool struggled with their form after that game, but ended up winning the Premier League. Meanwhile, PSG advanced further in the UCL as they defeated Aston Villa 5-4 on aggregate.

Many soccer fans know that for over a decade, the Champions League has been the main trophy PSG wants to win. After many experiments with making marquee signings and spending lots of money, the club has finally formed a complete team that can dream of finally winning it.
PSG only made one appearance in the UEFA Champions League Final. They did it in the 2019/2020 season, where they lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich in Lisbon, Portugal.
PSG have reached the semifinals this year, which is their fourth time in the last five years. Last year, PSG lost 2-0 on aggregate to Borussia Dortmund in the semifinals. With a 1-0 against Arsenal, the French side will look to keep the lead and head to the final again since 2020.
