Sami Mokbel believes Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou will get sacked in the summer

Ange Postecoglou is expected to leave Tottenham once the season ends

Ange Postecoglou has just delivered on his promise of winning a trophy in his second season at a club. The Tottenham manager exceeded all expectations to beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa league final and end the club’s long-standing trophy drought. The Lilywhites are now bringing a European trophy back to N17 after 41 years. The players showed great hunger and determination to get over the line in the final.

Big Ange has been under all sorts of pressure in recent months after enduring a dismal domestic season. The Australian has been in the media spotlight week in week out for all the wrong reasons. But the Spurs manager silenced his critics in the best way possible after ending the club’s 17-year wait for a major trophy.

Winning the Europa League has also ensured Champions League football for next season. One can say that Ange Postecoglou has completed the objectives given to him at the start of the season. The North London club were expected to qualify for Champions League football next season and compete for a major trophy. The Australian has managed to achieve both amidst a disastrous Premier League campaign.

What now for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham?

Many fans believe that winning the Europa League might just be the turning point for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham. The Australian has managed to achieve a historic feat and it is only right to assume that Daniel Levy would give the 59-year-old another season to continue his project.

But reliable journalist Sami Mokbel has revealed that Levy is still expected to sack Big Ange at the end of the season to kickstart a new era at N17. Writing in his BBC column, Mokbel said,

“Daniel Levy saw what happened to Manchester United at the start of this season sticking with Erik ten Hag and he will not want to make that same mistake. I think once the tickertape goes down and tonight is out of the way that decision will be made. I think Levy will remain ruthless and cruel about that. I will be shocked if Ange Postecoglou is the manager here next season.”

Sami Mokbel has suggested that Daniel Levy will not repeat the same mistake Manchester United made last summer after the Red Devils decided to keep Erik ten Hag on for another season. The reliable journalist also added that Daniel Levy will be ruthless and sack Ange Postecoglou in the summer once the hype around the Europa League win has died down.

It is fair to assume that some fans will not like this decision if Levy follows through with it. But it is also important to note that the Premier League campaign has just been a disaster and the Europa league win might just paper over the cracks if the club does not act upon it. Big Ange has given fans a lasting memory and if he does leave N17, then the Australian can head for pastures new with his head held high.
