Roma are now in direct negotiations with both Manchester United for Jadon Sancho and Aston Villa for Leon Bailey, hoping to get the double deal, as Juventus waited too long.
Football Italia had exclusively revealed that the Giallorossi had stepped into the race for Sancho and today the confirmation came from the reports in England.
As we had already noted, Roma’s intention is to pick up two very strong attacking wingers to mould the team into the form wanted by new coach Gian Piero Gasperini, so it’s not an either/or situation with Sancho and Bailey.
When it comes to the Manchester United outcast, a loan is not possible because his contract expires in June 2026, but Roma want to make a big investment so they can then concentrate on selling unwanted players.
What Roma needed was for Sancho to open the door to them, and that has now been granted.
He waited a long time for Juventus to make the agreement stick, saying no to all other proposals, but now Roma can truly tempt him into accepting a different route to Serie A.
