The Scudetto and Europe aren’t the only targets up for grabs going into the final round of the Serie A season, as there are still multiple scenarios for Verona, Parma, Lecce, Empoli and Venezia to be relegated.

The Lega Serie A announced that the Week 38 fixtures will be spread out over three days, so the two Scudetto showdowns Como-Inter and Napoli-Cagliari are on Friday evening, while Bologna-Genoa and Milan-Monza are on Saturday.

All the other games kick off simultaneously on Sunday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT, 20.45 CET) to ensure fairness.

Going into the last round, Monza are the only team already doomed to relegation, while Verona, Parma, Lecce, Empoli and Venezia are fighting to avoid being left in the bottom three.

If two teams finish level on points, then there will be a play-off over two legs, just like for the Scudetto.

However, if three or more teams are locked together, they must be divided by a ‘classifica avulsa’ – a mini table of their results against each other.

This is why head-to-head record could yet be decisive.

Serie A head-to-head possible scenarios

If Verona, Parma, Lecce and Empoli all finish together on 34 points, then Lecce (12 points in the mini table) and Empoli (11) would be safe, with Verona (5) and Parma (3) going into the play-off.

If Verona, Lecce and Empoli are all level on 34 points, then Lecce are safe, Empoli and Verona enter the play-off.

There is also the possibility that Empoli, Lecce and Venezia could all finish level on 32 points.

In that case Empoli would go down based on their goal difference in the mini table, leaving Lecce and Venezia to enter the play-off.

Ultimately, the key will be Empoli vs. Verona, as a Tuscan victory would shake everything up.

Venezia need a victory against Juventus and even then can only hope the other results go their way.

Serie A state of play

Verona 34 points

Safe if they pick up at least 1 point against Empoli

Safe with defeat, unless both Empoli and Lecce win, or one of Empoli and Lecce win plus a Parma draw

Parma 33 points

Safe with a draw, if Lecce and Empoli do not win

Safe with defeat, if at least two out of Lecce, Empoli and Venezia fail to win

Lecce 31 points

Safe if they beat Lazio, and Empoli fail to win

Safe if they get a better result than Empoli, and Venezia fail to win

Empoli 31 points

Safe if they beat Verona, and Lecce and Venezia fail to win

Safe if they get a better result than Lecce, and Venezia also fail to win

Venezia 29 points
