Chelsea have serious interest in signing one striker this summer after multiple outlets mention the links, a potential move looks on.
The big news comes after Chelsea finally secured their qualification to play Champions League football next season on the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday.
The Blues had to win this game to secure it, and they managed a 1-0 away win against Nottingham Forest to provide scenes of celebrations amongst the Blues players and staff yesterday evening. And in by doing this, Chelsea also set a brand new record in football!
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca was so pleased with making the Champions League that he took the opportunity to swear at all of his critics across the season by telling them all to F off!!
You wonder what the future holds for Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea this summer and beyond, but I guess that will all depend on how many new strikers the club look to bring in – it could be two.
Chelsea have been linked with many names, and The Daily Mail have already named Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitike, and Benjamin Sesko as the three man striker shortlist Chelsea want. But Ekitike was mentioned a lot yesterday.
As well as The Daily Mail, The Guardian reported yesterday that Chelsea are ramping up their pursuit of a new striker after qualifying for the Champions League, with further talks held over Ipswich’s Liam Delap and the club giving strong consideration to a move for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike.
And as well as all of that, Sky Germany reporter Patrick Berger said this yesterday on X:
‘Chelsea are seriously interested in Hugo Ekitiké – confirmed. The Blues have entered the race for the French striker from Frankfurt. He is on their shortlist, like Liam Delap (Ipswich). Eintracht Frankfurt want €100m for Ekitiké!’
