Amid rumours that Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta has reached an agreement on terms with Sevilla to replace Quique Sanchez Flores, his exit from Las Palmas has been confirmed.

Garcia Pimienta took over Las Palmas a little under three seasons ago, taking the reigns in his first job outside of the Barcelona academy system, after three decades. Since, he has guided Las Palmas on an upward trajectory, winning promotion last season, and securing safety this year in La Liga, in spite of a barren run in the second half of the season.

His contract on is up at the end of the season at any rate, and it appears he was keen to move onto pastures new. Real Oviedo manager Luis Carrion is cited by marca as a potential replacement for Las Palmas, who were always preparing for a potential exit. Sevilla are likely already in talks with Garcia Pimienta, while Diego Martinez is also on their shortlist.
