Micky van de Ven has been one of the standout players for Tottenham Hotspur this season

Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven has made remarkable progress since his move to N17. The commanding centre-back has quickly established himself as a key figure in Thomas Frank’s starting eleven, proving to be one of the Premier League’s standout defenders this season.

His partnership with Cristian Romero at the heart of the defence has been central to Spurs’ impressive start to the new campaign under Thomas Frank. The duo complement each other perfectly, providing solidity and balance against some of the Premier League’s toughest opponents.

But it is Van de Ven who has stepped up and enhanced his game this season. The 24-year-old’s impact on both ends of the field is clear to see, with the Dutchman adding a goal-scoring touch to his game under Thomas Frank. His most recent goal contribution came against Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League, sparking Tottenham’s unlikely comeback in Norway.

Thomas Frank wants Micky van de Ven to be a part of the leadership group at Tottenham

Tottenham’s game against Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League was extra special for one player. Handpicked by Thomas Frank to captain the Lilywhites, Micky van de Ven led the team out, scored, and inspired a spirited fightback – marking a memorable milestone in his Spurs career.

After the match, Frank all but confirmed that Van de Ven is now part of the club’s leadership group. When asked about the decision to choose the Dutchman as his captain, Frank said in his presser (via Football.london),

“Yes, I have made a decision. I haven’t told the players yet, and that will be on Thursday. So, I made the decision, but it’s probably pretty obvious he will be. He has impressed me a lot as a player, but also as a communicator on the pitch. And a little bit of show of character. I think he was good today.”

Frank confirmed that Micky van de Ven is a part of the leadership group at N17 this season. The Spurs manager further stressed the Dutchman’s importance in the squad, suggesting that he has been one of Tottenham’s standout performers this season. His presence, composure, and ability to lead by example have made him an ideal candidate for a leadership role at Hotspur Way.

Spurs fans will now hope the Dutchman continues to build on his strong start and maintain his form as the season progresses. With fixtures coming thick and fast, Frank may need to carefully manage his minutes, but keeping Van de Ven fit and firing could prove crucial in the Lilywhites’ push for a successful campaign.
