Simone Inzaghi guided Inter Milan to a landmark 20th Scudetto last term, beating AC Milan to the throne by an emphatic 19 points.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, he did that with the ‘oldest’ title-winning team in the past 30 years.

Inter earned the second star on their jersey in one of the most dominant Serie A campaigns last season.

Strangely, only relegated Sassuolo defeated the Nerazzurri in 2024/25, beating them in both legs.

However, everything else was pure magic.

Inter Milan ‘Oldest’ Team to Win Scudetto in 30 Years

Inzaghi’s squad had an average age of 29.12 years.

Meanwhile, Massimiliano Allegri’s Milan side held the previous record in 2010/11.

Francesco Acerbi was the oldest member of Inter’s title-winning squad, with 36 years.

However, Yann Sommer, Marko Arnautovic , Juan Cuadrado, Alexis Sanchez, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were 35.

Therefore, it’s fair to say that experience helped Inzaghi bring Inter back to Serie A’s throne last year.

While Sanchez and Cuadrado left in the summer, others have stayed and are on the verge of defending the crown this term.

Indeed, Inter entered March’s international break as the leaders, boasting a three-point lead on second-placed Napoli.
