Multiple sources in Italy claim that Inter coach Cristian Chivu will likely change six starters for a Champions League game against Ajax on Wednesday after a 4-3 loss against Juventus.

Inter coach Chivu is expected to make several changes to the starting line-up that suffered a 4-3 loss against Juventus on Saturday.

The Nerazzurri will visit Ajax on Wednesday in their 2025-26 Champions League opener.

Which changes Inter will make vs. Ajax

Gazzetta and other reputable Italian sources claim that the Chivu is expected to make changes in all departments, starting with Josep Martinez in goal, replacing Yann Sommer.

Sommer was criticised for Vasilije Adžić’s winning Juventus goal on Saturday, so the Swiss keeper expected to start on the bench in Amsterdam.

According to reports, Federico Dimarco and Petar Sucic will also return to the starting XI, replacing Carlos Augusto and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Yann Aurel Bisseck will likely replace Manuel Akanji, who has played three games in eight days, and another variation in defence will see Stefan de Vrij replace Francesco Acerbi.

Lautaro Martinez is at risk of missing Ajax vs. Inter

Last but not least is the attack, where Lautaro Martinez is in doubt due to back pain and could be replaced by  Ange-Yoan Bonny or Francesco Pio Esposito, who are both waiting to make their Champions League debut.

Chivu will address the media, providing the latest team news at a press conference at 19:00 today.
