Sky Sport Italia reports that Atletico Madrid have opened talks with Inter for Davide Frattesi, but the Colchoneros refused to include Giuliano Simeone in a swap deal.

Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Inter midfielder Frattesi and have opened talks with the Serie A giants.

Atletico Madrid in talks for Frattesi

Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Inter haven’t yet decided whether to part ways with the Italian midfielder, although they attempted to include Atletico Madrid striker Simeone in the deal, facing resistance from his club.

Frattesi, 25, has just completed his second season at Inter, but he was never a regular starter under ex-Nerazzurri boss Simone Inzaghi.

Frattesi could join Ruggeri

Frattesi did not feature in the Club World Cup under Cristian Chivu due to a muscle injury and returned to Europe just a few hours before Monday’s elimination at the hands of Fluminense, alongside other injured players such as Hakan Calhanoglu, Yann Bisseck, Benjamin Pavard, and Piotr Zielinski.

Atletico Madrid have already signed another Italian player this summer, as they are on the verge of welcoming Matteo Ruggeri from Atalanta.
