Benjamin Sesko has been trying to find his footing since arriving at Old Trafford this summer, as Manchester United signed the striker for a massive £73 million from RB Leipzig.

Although the former Bundesliga star has managed to get onto the scoresheet with goals against Brentford and Sunderland, the striker has now gone six games without scoring.

During the October international break, Slovenia faced Kosovo and Switzerland, with both games ending in goalless draws, and since returning, Sesko has only managed to register one assist to Bryan Mbeumo against Brighton as they won 4-2.

However, in United’s recent clash with Tottenham Hotspur, Benjamin Sesko came on as a substitute in the 58th minute, replacing Noussair Mazraoui, however twisted his knee later on in the game, instantly calling over to the bench.

It’s understood that Sesko is due to undergo scans at Carrington, however Chris Wheeler has now revealed that the chances of the striker reporting for international duty with Slovenia are slim.

Taking to X, the Daily Mail reporter explained: “Benjamin Sesko’s strike partner for Slovenia, Andraz Sporar, says they don’t expect the injured Man Utd star to report for international duty and ‘we will have to do without him’. Utd expected to give an update on Sesko’s knee injury later today”

As such, Slovenia appear to be without arguably their biggest name as they prepare to face Kosovo and Sweden in their bid to rise above Kosovo who sit in second place, to be in with a chance of qualifying for the World Cup next summer.

However, this would require winning both of their final games, with Sweden sat at the bottom of the group with only one point thanks to a 2-2 draw with Slovenia, as well as Kosovo not only losing to the Slovenian side, but also group leaders Switzerland.
