AC Milan will be without Fikayo Tomori for at least the next game against Sassuolo as the centre-back has sustained a hip injury.

There was a setback suffered midway through the first half of Milan’s 4-0 defeat to Lazio last night as Fikayo Tomori collapsed in a heap having taken a knock on his hip, and he had to be replaced by Simon Kjaer.

According to what we have learned through our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, the tests that Tomori underwent this morning showed a lesion of the rotator muscle in his left hip. His condition will be re-evaluated in a week, which means he will not be available for the game against Sassuolo on Sunday.

Whether Stefano Pioli opts to go with Simon Kjaer, Malick Thiaw or Matteo Gabbia to partner Pierre Kalulu – or goes for an entirely new pairing after such a bad defensive display – should emerge in the coming days.
