Tottenham Hotspur need a massive squad overhaul in the summer. The Lilywhites must bring in reinforcements for next season if they want to close the gap on its rivals. Ange Postecoglou’s men sit 17 th in the Premier League table and they are well on their way of recording the club’s lowest ever points tally in a single Premier League season.
The fans will also hope that Daniel Levy signs new players quickly as Spurs need to aim for a Champions League spot next year. The recruitment strategy of the club has been brilliant in recent years. It is fair to say that the Lilywhites have managed to buy some really good players that have contributed significantly for the club.
Most of those signings were brought in by Fabio Paratici, before he was banned from any football activities. The former Spurs sporting director was responsible for bringing in Cristian Romero, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Dejan Kulusevski to name a few. It is fair to say that these players have played a major role in helping Tottenham become better in recent years.
Tottenham have struggled to carve out positive results in the Premier League this season. One of the key factors for the poor form in domestic competitions is the lack of squad depth at the club. Ange Postecoglou has been forced to play inexperienced players in new positions for most parts of the campaign, and that has led to the poor performances on the pitch.
But now, Spurs are on the verge of re-signing Fabio Paratici in the summer to solve the recruitment issues. Speaking about the importance of Paratici, ex-Spurs keeper Paul Robinson told Tottenham News,
“His recruitment has been amazing. You look at the signings that he’s had, you look at Kulusevski, Bentancur, Romero, Vicario. The signings that he’s brought to the club have been a success. I think from the outside looking in, it’s somebody that Daniel Levy trusts.”
The former Spurs keeper added,
“So if he comes back in an official capacity, I think that’ll be a good thing for the club if he can work with whatever manager’s in charge next season and get the recruitment right for the style of play that the manager wants to achieve.”
Paul Robinson suggested that Fabio Paratici’s recruitment for Spurs has been amazing. The ex-Spurs keeper added that most of the signings under the Italian have been a success and Paratici is someone Daniel Levy trusts. Robinson added that bringing Paratici back to N17 would be a good move as he would sign the right players for the Lilywhites and help the manager achieve success.
Daniel Levy has come under constant pressure to get the right players in once the season ends. The Lilywhites also need to cash in on underperforming players to maximise funds for new arrivals. A lot of the issues at the club need to be address, starting with the uncertain future of Ange Postecoglou. Levy would also need to make a decision on Big Ange before proceeding to sign any players.
