South Korea hosts Venezuela today in an international friendly at the Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium as both teams look to bounce back from recent defeats.

The Taegeuk Warriors are coming off a heavy 4-1 loss to Uruguay earlier this week and will look to secure a positive result.

The fixture could also be a special one for Son Heung-min, who tied legendary forward Cha Bum-kun’s record of 58 men’s international goals during the Uruguay match.

If Son manages to find the back of the net today, he will break the record to become the highest goalscorer in South Korean soccer history.

Meanwhile Venezuela enters this matchup following a 2-1 loss against Japan.

Historically, the last meeting between these two teams dates back to a September 2014 friendly that South Korea won 3-1.

Given both nations’ recent attacking form and defensive vulnerabilities, we can expect a high scoring match.
