Spurs Identify Late Ndiaye Alternative Transfer

Tottenham Hotspur have had a dismal start to the 2026/27 Premier League season, losing both of their opening games and failing to score a single goal. Unsurprisingly, Roberto De Zerbi wants yet more reinforcements.

In particular, he’s aiming to bring in some new attacking players to ameliorate their woes in front of goal. They signed players such as Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes this winow, but haven’t added any forwards to the squad.

Savio recently joined the team, but his goal record leaves a little to be desired. There is still room for improvement if the board continue to splash the cash.

They have recently been linked with Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye amid a proposed swap deal that would see Richarlison go the other way, but could now make a move for an alternative target.

According to a report from The Guardian, the Lilywhites have lined up AC Milan winger Christian Pulisic as another possible transfer before deadline day.

This wouldn’t be the USA international’s first stint in the Premier League. Previously, he has spent time at London rivals Chelsea, before moving to Milan in 2023.

Despite this, Spurs are not the only club who have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old in the ongoing transfer window. Football Hooligan reported [via Sports Mole] that Arsenal and Manchester United were also interested Pulisic earlier in the window.

It’s unclear if their interest persists so late in the day, though. If they have both moved on, then Spurs might be free to pursue Pulisic alone.

What would Christian Pulisic bring to Tottenham?

A very technically-skilled winger with brilliant dribbling ability, Pulisic is very easy on the eyes. He can unlock a tight defence with a mere drop of shoulder, boasting decent end product as well.

He’s also very quick, allowing him to beat his man with ease. On top of this, he is a very adaptable player. While he generally plays on the left wing, Pulisic can also function as a right winger, an attacking midfielder or even as a bonafide striker.

Furthermore, his passing is also highly underrated. He can pick out his teammates from tight areas to create chances and notch up assists.

He has one main weakness, though – his lack of physicality. In terms of his build, he’s very slight, making it all too easy for defenders to muscle him off the ball. Additionally, he isn’t the hardest worker in the world – even when he does decide to track back, he isn’t much use from a defensive standpoint.

We’re not sure if this would fly in a De Zerbi system, where players are expected to do plenty of running when out of possession. As well as this, he’s very poor in aerial duels.

Still, Pulisic has plenty of positives. If Spurs do decide to snap him up, they must be aware of his shortcomings and have a plan to account for them, though.
