Spurs ready to cash in on ‘phenomenal’ player – English club willing to pay big money for him

Tottenham are open to selling defender Joe Rodon on a permanent transfer for a fee between £10-15 million.

That is according to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, who claims that Spurs are eager to cash in on him as he is not in Ange Postecoglou’s long-term plans.

The report adds that a number of Premier League teams enquired about Rodon in January but were put off by Tottenham’s asking price.

Meanwhile, Leeds are prepared to pay big money for him, with the report suggesting that Spurs’ valuation won’t be an issue for them. However, if they fail to regain promotion, persuading Rodon to remain in the Championship could present a challenge.

The defender joined the Championship team on loan in the summer and has been on great form since then.

His performances have earned him the admiration of Leeds fans, and he has become an integral part of the team’s backline.

Under his influence, Leeds boasts one of the best defensive records in the Championship, with a number of clean sheets, and only conceding 29 goals in 31 league games, which is less than a goal per game.

They currently sit 3rd in the league, just one point behind 2nd place Southampton and have a good chance of winning back promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds United are said to be keen on keeping the Welshman beyond this season, with Alasdair Gold also previously claiming that the Whites want to sign the ‘phenomenal‘ defender on a permanent transfer.
