Star Midfielder in Doubt for Key Lazio Clash vs FC Midtjylland

Luis Alberto did not train with the Lazio squad yesterday and is now in doubt for the upcoming match against FC Midtjylland.

The 30-year-old Spaniard has had a reduced role under Maurizio Sarri this season and only made three Serie A starts, mostly being used as a super sub in the second half of matches. Some media reports recently suggested that Luis Alberto is unhappy with the situation, again linking him with a move to the perennially interested Sevilla.

As reported by La Repubblica (via LazioNews24), Luis Alberto is currently suffering from a slight hip muscle strain following a knock in training last week. He’s not at his best condition and could sit out the upcoming Europa League clash with FC Midtjylland, a must win game for the Biancocelesti.

Luis Alberto has started all four Europa League outings so far this season but could be left on the bench for the match, a game Lazio are desperate to win as they fight for a spot in the Round of 16.
