Taibi: AC Milan, Inter and Juventus ignore local talent

Former AC Milan and Manchester United goalkeeper Massimo Taibi has slammed Italy's biggest clubs.

Taibi says the likes of Milan, Inter and Juventus should do more to support local talent.

He told TVPlay: "Why in Italy do we have good goalkeepers and have problems in the other roles? There are many reasons. There are those who say that the youth sectors are not like they used to be. You can also see it from important clubs like Juve, Inter and Milan: once upon a time there were all Italians, there was more possibility for them to grow.

"Abroad you get footballers with little money. It's all about money."

On Monza goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio going to Juventus, he said: "Di Gregorio can become a starter for Juventus. Technically and mentally I know him, he can do it. The best goalkeeper in the world, the one I prefer, is Gigio Donnarumma.

"He has received too much criticism, even this year, but he was the best goalkeeper in the French league."
